Things Seem Strong

The pictures in Things Seem Strong were made in western Wisconsin, in what is known as the Driftless Area. They were made concurrently with my other series Someday is Today, making these two bodies of work — in a sense — sister series. While Someday is Today takes a more dispassionate view of the landscape in this region, Things Seem Strong lies more at the intersection where the momentary and the eternal meet.

Note: Many of these photographs were made under a commission from the Museum of Wisconsin Art for the exhibition Among the Wonders of the Dells: Photography, Place, Tourism.
